The U.S. Department of Transportation estimates that, by 2045, total freight will reach a stunning 25 billion tons. Rail is currently the third-largest freight transport method (behind truck and pipeline) and continues to become increasingly important. From 2015 to 2045, it’s predicted that the total weight of freight moved by rail will increase by nearly 25%.
The demand for rail services doesn’t appear to be going away anytime soon. As the years pass, it will become even more important for our rail customers to get the fuel they need at competitive prices. Sustainability Goals
Sustainable and eco-friendly business practices are front-of-mind for many companies these days. However, the International Energy Agency (IEA) has warned that our moves toward a sustainable future have slowed down over the past couple of years.
Can we rework this to talk about carbon offsets or Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions reduction? We don’t sell anything other than diesel fuel and contract price programs to the rail industry but trying to focus on the other two examples I listed above under sustainability.
