One of the themes of this unprecedented 2020 calendar year continues to be concentrating on becoming more efficient. Workplace efficiency, fuel efficiency, emission efficiency, and time efficiency are a few examples of topics at the forefront of the business world. Apple has identified an opportunity to aid in all different industries across all levels.
Currently, Apple software helps navigate airways, and streamlines rail car efforts, but is also interested in joining the ranks of the automobile industry. In a few years Apple plans for another electric passenger vehicle to enter the market. Apple is targeting 2024 for the launch of its self-driving, electric, passenger vehicle. The power source would be a LFP battery, which would in theory allow lower cost and longer charge life in relation to the current EV models. Should the actual vehicle production prove to be difficult, the backup option would be marketing autonomous vehicle software to allow vehicles to be adapted to accommodate the self-driving concept. The project for the 2024 vehicle launch will be referred to as “Project Titan”, which would include a rather unique mono-cell design. Apple is currently searching for a partner for vehicle production, which would need to produce upwards of 100,000 units annually to justify the launch.
