The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CCSA) has set the date for the 2021 International Roadcheck. Plans for roadchecks this year will be May 4th through the 6th. This 72-hour road check will have enforcement officers primarily focusing on lighting and hours of service (HOS).
Truck drivers who transport the COVID-19 vaccine will not be held for inspection. It is imminent to have the public vaccinated.
Required documentation and devices include:
- Roadside view ready ELD
- Commercials driver’s license
- Medical certificate (including waivers)
- Proof of periodic inspection documents
- All road-related paperwork including bill of lading, emergency response information (for hazmat shipments)
Drivers are urged to stay calm and respectful during the inspection, becoming inpatient and frustrated will only prolong the inspection. The troopers and inspectors are doing their job to ensure the safety of everyone traveling on the road.
