Manager/Director, Legal, Regulatory & Compliance

The Manager/Director, Legal, Regulatory & Compliance will provide commercial legal support for retail business matters, including contract management, compliance, regulatory and counsel for senior management.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contract Management
    - Draft and maintain retail contracts for power and natural gas consistent with deal structures, operational capabilities and in compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational risk policies
    - Assess contractual liabilities, understand market and legal risks and mitigate contractually, where possible
    - Provide training on contract provisions internally and with external business partners

  • Review and Negotiation
    - Review and negotiate vendor contracts, RFPs, wholesale agreements, letters of credit and confidentiality agreements
    - Work closely with Sales, and participate in contract negotiations with prospective customers

Executive Assistant & Office Manager

The Executive Assistant & Office Manager will be responsible for coordination and maintenance of essential office administration duties while assisting executive with daily needs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Energy Accountant

The Energy Accountant will be responsible for the development and management of all aspects of the financial energy accounting process within the Natural Gas and Power division of Guttman Energy.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help develop the Energy Accounting processes, policies, procedures and internal controls needed for natural gas and power accounting activities. Energy accounting processes include, but are not limited to, calculation of gross margins, revenues and cost to acquire
  • Manage the settlements process, which involves the ability to manage utility data effectively
  • Actualize all gas and power volumes, which includes the managing and tracking invoicing of revenues, payment of purchases and net settlements
  • Manage and reconcile imbalanced accounts
  • Analyze and account for routine functions for all natural gas and power transacted within the business
  • Complete the month-end energy accounting process for both natural gas and power products, including the generation and coordination of journal entries and reconciliations
  • Create and analyze balance sheet and profit and loss statements – including the analyzing monthly and seasonal fluctuations (volume and amounts) as compared to prior months, budgets and estimates to actuals

Credit Analyst

The Credit Analyst will be responsible for providing financial analysis and guidance to the newly established Guttman Energy Power and Natural Gas Division, ensuring all programs and activities are in support of business goals/objectives and enforcing the credit and collections policy. In addition, the role is responsible for ensuring all programs are conducted in accordance with corporate policies and procedures. Successful candidates must be detail-oriented in nature, have strong organization skills and have the ability to work with diverse personalities within several departments. Other qualities include strong communication skills (both written and verbal), the ability to multi-task, the ability to work under strict deadlines and minimal supervision.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare initial and periodic creditworthy assessment recommendations for approval
  • Collect and analyze credit underwriting data on new and existing counterparties and customers from a variety of sources
  • Make credit decisions within the established Guttman Energy Credit policy
  • Analyze and evaluate the credit exposure of Guttman Energy clients

Billing Analyst

The Billing Analyst will design, develop, coordinate, test, implement, communicate and support Billing requirements and systems. This individual will ensure that billing processes and procedures are maintained and properly executed.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze all billing procedures and determine improvements and required compliance
  • Review all records associated with bills to ensure accuracy

EDI/Data Analyst

The EDI/Data Analyst will design, develop, coordinate, test, implement, communicate and support EDI and other data requirements and systems. This individual will ensure that data processes and procedures are maintained and properly executed. The EDI/Data Analyst will provide data support and ensure data integrity.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as liaison between external parties and internal customers regarding EDI and data management issues
  • Analyze, interpret and communicate data and internal functional groups
  • Ensure data integrity throughout the lifecycle, including extraction, storage, manipulation, processing and analysis
  • Experience with standard EDI transactions with business and technical expertise

Customer Service Representative

The Customer Service Representative will be responsible for exceeding customers’ expectations by providing accurate and timely product and service information, answering questions and resolving customer issues.

Billing/EDI Manager

The Billing / EDI Manager will be responsible for the day to day management and oversight of retail energy billing, EDI processing and the Billing and EDI staff. The Billing / EDI Manager has primary responsibility for reviewing and resolving billing and customer data issues and will provide overall Customer Service and Accounts Receivable team support for billing and EDI related topics and issues.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform all day-to-day management responsibilities for all processes and vendors in billing, dunning, EDI and/or data management functions
  • Resolve billing, EDI and data management issues; identify methods and opportunities to allow proactive action and outreach to customers; report on impacted customers and resolution timelines
  • Partner with internal and external teams to resolve billing, EDI or data management issues; implement process and system improvements

Risk Management Analyst

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and supporting reports and models needed to provide effective risk management support and analysis within the new Guttman Energy’s Natural Power and Gas Division. The candidate will work directly with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to support the risk management needs. This position directly reports to the Guttman Group Director, Risk Management and Internal Controls with a dotted-line responsibility to the President of Guttman Energy’s Natural Gas and Power Division.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for daily preparation, monitoring and analysis of risk management reporting – reporting includes, but is not limited to daily trade reporting, MtM, Position, Exposure, VaR and other statistical measurements
  • Responsible for development of reporting needed to monitor all functions of the business outlined in the Risk Management policy
  • Responsible for daily confirmation activity between counterparties and brokers
  • Responsible for supporting the development and implementation of key risk measurement methodologies

Gas Scheduler

The primary responsibilities of the Gas Scheduler is to provide transactional analysis and scheduling while working with a team of traders to optimize and accurately schedule supply on pipelines in support of the retail portfolio.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform daily natural gas scheduling and operational duties
  • Submit accurate and timely nominations utilizing electronic bulletin boards to schedule product movement
  • Monitor and report pipeline operational information to trading to maximize business potential

Power Trader

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute physical and financial trading strategies in line with the risk management policies to hedge the retail power portfolio
  • Develop short-term trading strategies and work with other team members to develop long-term trading strategies
  • Produce profitable trading results, while operating within defined risk, credit and contract parameters
  • Coordinate with Power Scheduling, Real time Trading and other gas/power desks to deliver profitability

Direct Sales Manager

The Direct Sales Manager will be primarily responsible for prospecting new business opportunities, both through direct sales efforts, leveraging the efforts of the sales team in oil, cross- training of natural gas and electricity to the direct and inside sales team within Guttman Oil, presenting company services, and acquiring signed contracts to profitably acquire new business for Guttman Energy.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acquire signed contracts with new and renewal customers in an assigned customer segment with annual energy consumption in excess of 1,500 MWh; manage sales opportunities that are presented by assigned 3rd party affiliates (e.g. brokers and consultants)
  • Prospect for new customers, develop and maintain customer relationships and develop pricing opportunities necessary to achieve assigned sales and other targets
  • Communicate activities with management; create reports utilizing the SalesLogix tool
  • Obtain usage and credit information from customers necessary to support the sales process
  • Implement a business plan to effectively manage assigned market segment
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal stake holders to resolve issues related to pricing, contracting, billing and service

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Five or more years of sales experience in the retail energy business is preferred, with experience selling, negotiating and pricing basic fixed-price, indexed and complex structured energy supply contracts for commercial and industrial customers
    • The percentage of time selling is 60% new and 40% current.
    • This position will be responsible for closing the deal and working closely with the Account Manager to assist in post deal follow-up.
    • There are typically more than five competitors and our pricings are usually higher or competitive.
    • The typical range of an order is $5,000,000 to $50,000,000 annually. Larger deals are possible.
    • The sales cycle typically includes three or more calls with the customer over a several week period.
    • Presentations and negotiations are typically involved in the sales process.
    • BDD must be able to work independently, however, within tightly controlled business policies and processes, reporting requirements and behavioral principles.

Sr. Structuring & Quantitative Analyst

The Sr. Structuring & Quantitative Analyst will support the ongoing enhancement of retail power and natural gas pricing models, structure complex transactions, perform market research, develop products and ensure consistent competitive market positioning.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and enhance quantitative valuation models for retail power and natural gas that appropriately assess the commercial risks associated with commodity market transactions
    • Develop robust and sophisticated pricing algorithms to mitigate risk while ensuring market competitiveness
    • Apply financial modeling techniques, incorporating thorough understanding of commodity derivatives
    • Model tariff and market based costs
    • Utilize statistical forecasting techniques to model expected costs and customer consumption profiles

Load Forecasting Analyst

The Load Forecasting Analyst will develop, analyze and validate customer and portfolio-level load forecasts for power and natural gas retail customers in support of hedging activities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare daily load forecasts based on commercial sales activity for power and natural gas, utilizing proven modeling techniques
    • Analyze and validate load forecast determinants, including customer consumption behavior, weather, utility-defined data elements, hedging requirements and other data types
    • Create customer, product and portfolio level forecasts for the purposes of position management
    • Maintain and update key forecast data inputs to ensure consistent data quality
    • Provide detailed analyses explaining variances in forecasts and deviations from expectations
    • Back-test forecasts to identify opportunities for accuracy improvements; implement changes and ensure process efficiency
    • Develop performance measurement reports
    • Provide forecasting and analytical support to pricing, operations and supply and trading departments
    • Develop customer-specific load estimates for customer pricing
    • Analyze and model price component forecasts, market rules and weather correlations based on statistical modeling of historic data from various sources

Pricing & Structuring Analyst

The Pricing and Structuring Analyst will play a critical role in the acquisition of power and natural gas customers. Primary duties include the structuring of qualifying retail transactions, management of the deal capture process and analysis in support of solidifying Guttman Energy’s competitive positioning.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage quote preparation queues and deliver timely custom pricing for prospective and existing customers
    • Analyze and validate pricing inputs, estimate missing data points and ensure price accuracy
    • Provide structured pricing for complex transactions
    • Develop and maintain assumptions for daily-price offerings
    • Review RFP requirements; ensure compliance with non-standard requests
    • Continually evaluate efficiency in operational processes; implement enhancements
    • Validate executed customer contracts and transaction economics; ensure data quality and completeness throughout the deal intake process
    • Assess completeness of contract submissions and manage processing exceptions

Channel Coordinator

The Channel Coordinator will be responsible for achieving and exceeding sales and revenue results by developing and enhancing sales channel partner relationships and facilitating the daily transactional activities of channel partners.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate the day to day broker sales activity, ensuring that contracts and pricing are completed in a timely manner and properly processed. Follow-up on outstanding issues and requests.)

Operations Business Analyst

The Operations Business Analyst will work directly with stakeholders at all levels within the organization and with outside vendors and other parties to identify and document operational business processes, policies, procedures and requirements with sufficient detail and clarity to allow solution proposal development, business cases, identification of areas of operational improvement, training documentation and training to satisfy ongoing operations of the Guttman Natural Gas and Power Division. The position reports to the Head of Operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct analysis of stakeholder functional area and business processes; prepare high level business process documentation and policies; assist with procedure development
  • Collaborate with senior managers and decision makers to identify and solve a variety of problems, clarify management objectives and documentation
  • Perform validation and testing of proposed operational solutions
  • Analyze data, evaluate existing application products or reporting methods and recommend efficient, cost effective solutions that support client business processes and functional requirements
  • Identify areas of operational improvement; develop business cases and recommend improvements

  • Develop comprehensive business cases with cost estimates, service and benefit dimensions of proposed small, medium and large projects, including IT projects that will be the input for funding and scope decisions; prepare management reports defining and evaluating problems and recommending solutions

This position is responsible for providing all aspects of the accounts receivable process within the new Natural Gas and Power division of the Guttman Energy Group.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop accounts receivable process, policies, procedures and internal controls
  • Responsible for all A/R activities in the new Division, including but not limited to:
    • Processing and posting of all cash receipts and revenues
    • Investigating and resolving billing discrepancies/errors relating to receivables with business personnel as needed, includes the validating of account discrepancies and support of the cancellation process for non-payment
    • Managing and maintaining effective records for the review and reconciliation of A/R collections and aging accounts to ensure compliance
    • Processing of month-end AR closing process, including the generation and coordination of journal entries and reconciliations with the Guttman Energy Corporate Finance Group
    • Identifying, researching and resolving technical accounting issues
    • Maintaining A/R data, including customer files and records
    • Generating required reports, analysis and reconciliations in a timely manner
    • Support additional reporting and processes under the Controller, including but not limited to:
    • Collections process
    • Monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reporting
    • Tax reporting
    • Settlements, Imbalance and Margin Management reporting

  • Responsible for all AP activities in the new Division, including but not limited to:
    • Supporting preparation of all payments
    • Managing the organization, verification and payment processing of all invoicing, including EFT payments
    • Ensuring timely payments to all vendors
    • Providing effective issue resolution to vendor payment queries
    • Providing timely generation of required reports, analysis and reconciliations
    • Processing of month-end AP closing process, which will include the generation and coordination of journal entries and reconciliations with the Guttman Energy Corporate Finance Group
  • Supporting additional reporting and processes under the Controller, including but not limited to:
    • Monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reporting
    • Tax reporting
    • Sales Commission reporting
    • Settlements, Imbalance and Margin Management reporting
    • Internal and external audits, including the annual financial statement audit
