Risk Management Analyst/Lead

The Risk Management Analyst/Lead will be responsible for developing and supporting reports and models needed to provide effective risk management support and analysis within the new Guttman Energy’s Natural Power and Gas Division. The candidate will work directly with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to support the risk management needs. This position reports to the Head of Risk Management and Internal Controls with a dotted-line responsibility to the executive VP of Guttman Energy’s Natural Gas and Power Division.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform daily preparation, monitoring and analysis of risk management reporting – reporting includes, but is not limited to daily trade reporting, MtM, Position, Exposure, VaR and other statistical measurements
  • Develop reports to monitor all functions of the business outlined in the Risk Management policy
  • Support the development and implementation of key risk measurement methodologies
  • Will have extensive daily interaction with multiple areas of the business including, but not limited to Trading, Operations and Finance teams
  • Support reporting and analysis needed at the executive management team level
  • Develop of new policies, procedures and internal controls

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in a business and or mathematical discipline, MBA preferred but not required
  • 3-7 years minimum work experience, energy industry experience a plus
  • Experience in risk analysis around financial derivatives
  • Hands on experience in model valuation and risk modeling, including but not limited to scenario analysis, stress testing and risk assessment
  • Proven effective communication and interpersonal skills, including strong written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skill sets – must be attentive to detail – ability to take responsibility and ownership of data integrity and apply self-checking techniques
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments with competing deadlines within a fact-paced environment, both within a team setting and independently with limited direct supervision
  • Experience in an organization that manages a high volume of accounts/transactions
  • In depth experience with spreadsheet and database management, VBA or other programming skills a plus

Executive Assistant & Office Manager

The Executive Assistant & Office Manager will be responsible for coordination and maintenance of essential office administration duties while assisting executive with daily needs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate the day to day assistance and administrative services in a professional and timely manner, including managing confidential information, receiving phone calls, maintaining appointment calendar, exhibiting data in executive presentations and coordinating travel
  • Act as the initial point of contact for the company
  • Coordinate, manage, and order office supplies to ensure full stock at all times
  • Process, send, receive and distribute incoming and outgoing UPS and USPS correspondences on a daily basis
  • Work on special projects in support of the division, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must possess strong communication and organizational skills
  • Associate Degree or work equivalent. Energy experience is a plus
  • Working experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Billing Analyst

The Billing Analyst will design, develop, coordinate, test, implement, communicate and support Billing requirements and systems. This individual will ensure that billing processes and procedures are maintained and properly executed.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze all billing procedures and determine improvements and required compliance
  • Review all records associated with bills to ensure accuracy
  • Ensure that all billing calculations are correct
  • Ensure billing deadlines and vendor service levels are met
  • Keep detailed records to ensure compliance with audits and ease of information access; participate in audits when required
  • Reconcile billing records of all billing transactions, expenses, income and fund transfers
  • Support the customer service team for billing related inquiries
  • Produce reports for management upon request or on a regular basis
  • Produce charts and graphs to show revenues and variances for analysis by billing manager or executive staff
  • Ensure confidentiality in billing procedures and information
  • Ensure compliance with dunning processes / procedures and potential improvements
  • Work with controller’s group on collection procedures
  • Take part in selection of new or upgraded computer billing systems

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-year accounting degree or 4-year business, finance or math-related degree from an accredited college or university; or a high-school diploma and a Certified Professional Billing Analyst designation
  • Prior experience as a billing analyst preferred

Natural Gas Scheduler

The Natural Gas Scheduler will perform all activities related to the purchase and scheduling of natural gas for delivery to end-user customers in the Ohio and Pennsylvania deregulated service areas. The scheduler will perform the scheduling processes (nominations, balancing, and scheduling) in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with interstate pipeline and local utility practices. The scheduler will work closely with traders and forecasters to clearly meet commodity demands to ensure requirements are met at the least possible cost and most efficient pipeline route to maximize the profitability of the natural gas portfolio. Additionally, the scheduler will work closely with wholesale gas suppliers, pipeline schedulers, utility gas transportation team members and internal personnel to meet financial, operational cost and risk objectives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages all aspects of the first of the month, next-day, and intra-day scheduling processes for all Ohio and Pennsylvania based natural gas utilities to support natural gas transactions, utilizing each company’s respective nomination systems
  • Executes daily, weekly, and monthly balancing trades, as necessary, to balance daily natural gas receipts and deliveries
  • Analyzes pipeline balances and reconciles imbalances, including coordination of make-up/pay-back schedules with counter parties and pipelines
  • Work closely with gas traders to ensure all scheduling and trading processes are performed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensures data entry requirements are met to properly settle with counterparties
  • Supports the Accounting team in providing gas cost reports, storage tracking, and other schedules to support month-end close

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics or other related discipline is strongly preferred but can be substituted for a high level of experience
  • 4 years of experience in the natural gas industry is strongly preferred
  • Understanding and relevant experience with the wholesale gas supply chain: procurement, transportation, storage, balancing and nomination
  • Strong knowledge of FERC rules and regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is required

Natural Gas Asset Manager

The Natural Gas Asset Manager will procure natural gas supplies for resale to the company’s retail gas customers in accordance with company procedures. Arranges transportation of gas supplies from point of purchase to delivery. Administers the sale and/or release of the company’s acquired gas pipeline transportation rights and excess gas supplies.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Solicits bids for, and negotiates, the purchase and sale of gas commodity and gas transportation, as well as capacity release
  • Makes independent decisions on purchase and sale in accordance with management directives
  • Ensures all purchases and sales of gas are fully documented and summarized for accounting and billing purposes
  • Implements strategies developed by the Head of Supply and Trading for minimizing customer gas costs while maximizing company return
  • Monitors reports, electronic bulletin boards, and interacts with contacts at pipeline companies to track key volume activity accounts (imbalance, storage levels, etc.) and takes corrective action as necessary
  • Monitors strategic alliances with gas trading partners for purchase and/or sale of gas commodity and capacity
  • May serve as company’s trading representative in evaluating and implementing opportunities in the natural gas futures market to mitigate risk, in accordance with the company’s natural gas derivatives policy and procedure
  • May be required to cross-train in Gas Scheduling-related duties

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with a degree in economics, accounting, business administration or engineering
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a gas trading or equivalent environment
  • Demonstrates understanding of economics of transactions, operations and market dynamics, as well as financial concepts
  • Basic knowledge of company systems, operations and policies/procedures/practices
