Manager Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance

MANAGER QUALITY ASSURANCE AND REGUALTORY COMPLIANCE

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Manager Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance (QARC) is responsible for ensuring that the fuel that the Guttman Group procures, stores, transports, and sells to its customers meets all company, customer, industry, and regulatory requirements and specifications. The QARC Manager will proactively monitor trends in alternative fuels, the regulatory environment, industry best practices, fuel specification changes, and other industry changes and develop, monitor, and audit procedures to maintain the highest quality standards and compliance across the operating companies of the Guttman Group: Guttman Oil Company, Source One Transportation, and Bulk Terminal Storage. This position reports to the Director of Operations and Business Development.  The position is located in Belle Vernon, PA.  The position will include some travel.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Supply Department with the establishment and enforcement of product quality requirements from external suppliers and vendors.
  • Evaluate, test, and recommend petroleum additive suppliers and products for use by Guttman Group companies. 
  • Evaluate, approve, and monitor designated petroleum testing laboratories to support QA strategy.
  • Collect and initiate analysis of product samples from receipt sources, bulk storage tanks, and dispensing equipment.
  • Ensure Guttman Group Companies Maintain Compliance with all Regulatory Requirements and Industry Best-Practices  
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local standards and legislation regarding fuel transportation, storage, and marketing.
  • Ensure all permits are submitted as required by federal, state and local authorities.
  • Conduct routine audits to ensure that all operations are in compliance with Company policy and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in industry organizations that assist in achieving corporate Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance goals
  • Assist Sales in selling fuel operability solutions including periodic tank sampling and testing programs, additive strategies, and winter operability preparedness.
  • Audit and review customer fuel management procedures and equipment to identify improvement opportunities, potential problems, and remedies.
  • Troubleshoot and recommend solutions to customer fuel operability issues and champion Internal Quality Assurance Procedures Across all Operating Companies of the Guttman Group 
  • Develop and implement QARC training program for Guttman Group Sales, Supply, and Operations personnel 
  • Train company personnel in the safe operation and maintenance of all field test equipment.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, quality technical guidance and mentoring to employees.
  • Conduct internal audits of QA and Regulatory Compliance 

MINUMUM QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in Engineering, Environmental, Health and Safety, or related Science Discipline
  • Effective leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to set and achieve priorities, goals, and strategies with limited supervision
  • Experience designing, administering, and auditing quality assurance programs for hazardous materials
  • Experience writing, implementing and auditing work processes and procedures
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards
  • Willingness and ability to travel and provide onsite support at company and customer locations in Midwest, Mid Atlantic, and Southeast (10-15%)
  • Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, technical writing and presentation skills.       
  • Working knowledge of applicable regulations and agencies such as EPA, DOT, OSHA, and various state counterparts.      
  • Must be flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment and consistently maintain a professional and respectful demeanor/attitude with co-workers, clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies.         

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ Years experience in Energy, Industrial, or Chemical industries  
  • Experience with storage tank operations, including inspections, alarms and sampling
  • Familiarity with ASME, API, and ASTM specifications, standards, and recommended practices.
  • Experience and knowledge in the petrochemical regulatory environment

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Commercial & Industrial Sales Representative position is primarily responsible for generating new business opportunities by offering creative solutions to drive business growth.  The major functions of this position also include the ability to collaborate with various departments in order to generate value-added solutions to existing customers through the development of innovative/effective programs.  Overall, the responsibility with both potential and existing clients is to manage the sales process in order to increase sales volume and overall company profitability. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Utilize the marketing department to develop innovative solutions to acquire new business opportunities in cohesion with the various departments. (e.g., supply and logistics departments, etc.).
  • Develop existing territory volume and profitability by offering customer-focused creative programs to enhance their purchasing requirements. (e.g., risk management, inventory management, fuel operability programs, etc.).
  • Present company attributes/programs to prospects/existing customers through an effective sales process (e.g., face-to-face meetings, presentations, etc.) in order to produce positive results on a weekly basis. 
  • Grow volume and increase profitability within existing territory by capitalizing on market and supply opportunities.
  • Deliver quality service to customers through order receipt and confirmation, logistics communication, accurate invoicing, competitive price quoting, and resourceful problem solving concepts.
  • Work as part of a team environment by providing support to fuels division colleagues/customers as needed. (e.g., during holidays, vacation time periods, covering teammates on outside sales calls, etc.).
  • Provide excellent service by communicating clearly and professionally to customers, colleagues and management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Previous inside or outside sales experience is preferred; previous experience in use of a CRM system/Salesforce a plus.
  • Ability to listen to others, express ideas both orally and in writing and provide relevant and timely information to clients, managers, etc.
  • Ability to think innovatively to create value-added solutions for prospects and customers in a competitive and commoditized industry to achieve individual and company objectives is required.
  • Ability to understand problems and make timely, practical business decisions.
  • Intermediate Computer Skills: Experience and understanding working in Windows and MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Fleet Card Sales Representative - Dayton, Ohio

Fleet Card Account Manager - Dayton, OH

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Account Manager position is located in Dayton, Ohio. The candidate is responsible for selling Guttman Fleet Card Services to regional trucking companies located throughout central and southwestern Ohio. The function of the position is to initiate contact with transportation/logistics/trucking companies located in the assigned market and conduct face-to-face meetings to quantify pain, uncover needs and convert the prospect's current fleet fueling card program to the Guttman Fleet Card program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Sell Fuelman and Pacific Pride fleet card services in the state of Ohio by utilizing telephone call prospecting, e-mail communication, face-to-face scheduled meetings and cold call stop-in visits.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the fleet card industry, competitors' product offerings and the specific fueling needs of fleets with 10 to 100 vehicles that travel in multiple states.
  • Schedule conference calls and in-person appointments with owners, CFOs and transportation managers to uncover existing fleet card pains and build a sales plan to convert the business to the Guttman Fuelman fleet card.
  • Establish effective daily geographic travel patterns designed to contact a maximum number of trucking company prospects during 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. business hours to stimulate initial interest.
  • Maintain and update all contact information and prospecting notes within Salesforce.com database and prepare sales prospect activity reports for supervisor on a regular basis.
  • Identify bulk fuel leads for fellow Guttman Fuels Division sales reps by passing on information from trucking companies that have onsite bulk fuel storage tanks.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation, effective time management skills and the Guttman Group core brand attributes to the company and its customers (i.e., Trustworthy, Knowledgeable, Personal, Innovative and Responsive).
  • Work from a home office and manage daily time effectively to maximize selling activities both over the phone and in person.
  • Learn the basics of account maintenance to demonstrate various online program features for prospects and new customers. Functions include new card ordering, report generation, pricing, invoicing questions, etc. 
  • Streamline the credit approval process by assisting with the completion of prospective customers' credit applications prior to submission to headquarters credit department.
  • Responsible for acquiring 4 new fleet card customers monthly, after the initial training period.
  • Provide excellent service by communicating clearly and professionally to customers, colleagues and management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Minimum 2 years commercial sales experience AND upper management sales presentation experience preferred. 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to listen to others, express ideas both orally and in writing and provide relevant and timely information to clients, managers, etc. 
  • Ability to understand problems and make timely, practical business decisions.
  • Intermediate computer skills; experience working in Windows, Internet Explorer and MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to contact multiple transportation accounts and make effective follow-up contacts until a decision is made to convert from their existing fleet fueling card to the Guttman Fuelman fleet card.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills and minimal need for daily supervision.
